The Great Southern Ocean Exhibit at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo is a Colbros design and construct electrical project.
This was a challenging project due to the nature of the site and all care had to be taken so as to design a facility fit for purpose for the future inhabitants.
This would be one of the largest and most complex aquatic centres in Sydney or the country.
The facility comprised of 11 unique pools. Each of these pools, while not for general human use had to be designed and built in compliance with the strict guidelines and standards associated with a human aquatic centre.
Design beyond that of a standard aquatic centre was adopted with the focus being on the delivery of water quality.
The effluent filtration system was critical to this as well as the water temperature and salt water monitoring and regulating systems.
