Sydney Harbour Bridge – Southern Pylon Fire Escapes

Colbros Electrical were engaged to undertake the electrical contract works for the new fire escapes for the paint workshops to be created at the base of the southern pylon at the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Colbros were on hand to provide site temp power for the diamond chain saw rigs that took 4 weeks to cut through the 4m thick sandstone bases on both the eastern and western sides of the pylon.

Once these escape routes were established Colbros installed emergency lighting, exit lighting, general power and reed switches to the underground escape routes. All work was surface mounted with all cabling installed in steel conduit.

This was a Colbros design and construct project.
