Colbros were awarded the contract to undertake the electrical works at Blacktown Hospital as part of the Y2000 building refurbishment works.
One of the main areas of work was the installation of a new Essential MSB supplied from the line side of the existing Essential MSB auto transfer switch, upgrading the essential mechanical supplies to fire rated and upgrade works on the existing Non-Essential MSB. All of these works had to be coordinated and undertaken with minimal impact to the still operational hospital.
Other works included the installation and commissioning of light, power, distribution boards, communications, data, security, access control, CCTV and nurse call systems to surgical theatres, outpatient, endoscopy, MRI, CT Scan, FMU, biomed and recovery areas.
